Welcome to the official website for the Sven-David Sandström Society. The goal of the SDSS is to foster a community that promotes the music and legacy of Swedish composer Sven-David Sandström. This website serves as a centralised space to learn more about Sandström and his vast musical output, featuring a comprehensive catalogue with links to available scores from publishers.

The Sven-David Sandström Society works in close collaboration with Swedish and American cultural institutions, including the Royal College of Music Stockholm, Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, Kungliga Musikaliska Akademien, and Gehrmans Musikförlag. The SDSS is chaired by Ann-Marie Lysell, Sandström’s widow, and John Griffith, a former student of Sandström.

The SDSS was established in September 2023 following a performance of Sandström’s magnum opus The High Mass, conducted by Ryan Bancroft with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, featuring the Eric Ericsons Chamber Choir.
